It's Been Far Too Long

Well hello there lovelies,
It has been well over a month since I last posted on here, I am not going to bore you with all the details of why I have been away but I will give you all a little update.
001. I have moved house, it was unexpected but I moved out of home and I feel great about where I am now living.
002. I got a few job, well I have decided to leave my full time office job and work for myself, I will be doing makeup and acrylic nails full time - I am also planning on adding spray tans and brow shape/tint to my repertoire.
003. I lost a little bit of my mojo in all honesty, I wasn't buying many products and didn't want to just blog for the sake of it, that wasn't why I started writing to begin with!

Anyway thats it, I am back now and ready to get stuck in again. While I have been away and not posting my viewing figures didn't really suffer which is amazing and really does show that people are reading my blog, its such a nice feeling. I reached 1000 followers on twitter aswell which is crazy to think that so many people follow my endless rambles. So there you have my little update, normal blogging shall commence from now!

Cliphair / Hair Extension Review

Hair extensions: Cliphair*

I haven't really spoken about my hair very much on my blog but over the last year or so I have been wearing a weave. I really do enjoy wearing fake hair, I tend to go for a little bit longer than my real hair as I do like a bit more length but my main reason for a weave is thickness. If you are a weave queen like me you will know that maintaining a weave isn't easy! Your hair becomes very matted underneath and washing and styling takes at least one hour, such an effort!

I was on the hunt for some clip in hair extensions to wear on an everyday basis to give my hair a rest from the weave and I was lucky enough to be contacted by Cliphair and asked to test out some of their extensions.

Cliphair are a London based company who specialise in supplying high quality hair extensions, they offer clip in products, micro ring extensions and even pre-bond extensions. They have hundreds of colours and lengths to choose from which is perfect if you don't have one full hair colour.

I opted for the Blonde Mix 16/613 18inch double wefted clip extensions which is a lovely mix of blonde toned 100% Remy hair, perfect for someone who has a more natural/highlighted blonde colour. I knew this shade would work really well with my ombre and as it wasn't just a block colour it would blend into my own hair really well! The set of extensions cost £59.99 which if you are regular hair extension wearer you will know this is an amazing price, the pack itself is loaded with hair, seriously I was surprised with how much was included. When you buy a pack of Clip hair you receive; 8 double wefted pieces in a variety of sizes.

The hair? Well being Remy hair its baby soft, it styles really well whether curled or straightened and really does keeps its shape. It takes a few minutes to pop them in and you are then left with thick glamorous hair with no real effort. The website has videos of how to apply the extensions which is ideal for someone who hasn't tried clips before. Like I said they offer a wide range of shades from bleach blonde to black and everything in between, they even offer a free colour matching service which is a god send for anyone who is unsure of which shade/lenght to go for.

Are you a extension lover like myself, have you seen the Cliphair website? If you are looking for high quality hair at a really reasonable price I would check them out on there website or on twitter @cliphairlimited.

OOTD: Geekin' It Up

Geek T-Shirt: Topshop
Cropped Trousers: Topshop
Platform Pumps: Primark

This is my first ever OOTD post, I wore this little bad boy after my birthday night out. I needed something comfy and casual for hangover food with the girls. The grey, navy and black cropped trousers are seriously my favourite piece in my wardrobe right now. I picked them up in the Topshop sale for £15 and have not stopped wanting to wear them since. The pumps are a new addition also, £8 from Primark was a total steal, they go with almost everything and are seriously comfy to top it off. They had a deep red colour that I am eyeing up also.

My nails are super pointy claw acrylics, I dont like natural anymore! Saying that I am not wearing any makeup in these pictures as I have such had a spray tan and my skin was looking rather OK for a change.

Happy Birthday To Lola.

It was my birthday last week and in true Manc girl style I slapped on the makeup, donned my finest party frock (maybe playsuit) and hit the town with my beautiful friends. This year I turned 24, its scary how fast the time goes!

Myself and 13 friends decided to have a sophisticated meal in a place called La Vina in Manchester city centre, it a lovely little tapas restaurant. It serves amazing food, seriously mouth watering dishes and it really isn't too expensive at all. Along with our meals we opted for large jugs of sangria. After food we headed to Rev de Cuba, its only just come to Manchester but it specialises in Rum and has a cool feel to the place.

The playsuit I wore was from Topshop, it was really form fitting and I love the monochrome floral print - so me! I got so many lovely compliments on it while out aswell which is always nice. I have had my ombre made a little blonder and I really do love it. For my makeup I went for a bold lip and super highlighted skin, I loved it! Hope you like my snaps from the night, we danced all night long and drank so many daiquiris and mojitios I lost count, I even came home with a pair of maracas - sign of a good night if you ask me!

Mac: Fan Fare Lipstick

I feel that throughout my life I am always looking for my 'perfect' lip colour, you know that shade you can wear on an everyday basis that isn't too out there but its pretty enough for people to comment on...? Well I think after a long search I have found it.

Mac FanFare is a cremesheen formulation which is ideal for an everyday lip as its glossy, creamy and it isn't too tricky to apply. Mac describe this shade as a 'mid toned yellow pink' which is almost true but I do feel it had a coral/salmon undertone to it as well. It has become my go to everyday shade, I find the soft tones work really well with the NW20 skin tone and it kind of makes my lips look super natural which is what I want in an everyday shade.

When wearing this I have had rather alot of compliments, mostly off the ladies but that's OK with me. My work colleague has even added it to her wishlist! If you are looking for a 'your lips but better' shade I would suggest Fanfare as it would work well this so many skin tones as its such a neutral not-to-pink-not-to-brown shade.

Have you tried Fanfare or have you been lucky enough to find your perfect everyday lip shade?

Healthy Eating: Spicy Pumpkin Soup

After posting about my weightloss story I received alot of emails asking for foods advice. Alot of people wanted to find out healthy snacks to eat, recipe ideas and foods replacement tips, so I decided that when I make a yummy healthy meal I will share it with you all..

Todays meal is spicy Pumpkin soup, all you need for this recipe is:

Ingredients:
Pumpkin
1 x Onion
1 x Chilli/Flakes
Celery
2 x Stock Cubes
Salt &Pepper
Garlic

Directions

001. Cut the pumpkin in half and scrap out the insides (we don't want any seeds in our soup), chop into large chunks and place on a plate.
002. Heat up a sauce pan and add a dash of water, throw in any veg you want, I picked onions, celery and chillies and let cook for 5mins on a medium heat.
003. Add salt, pepper, garlic and chilli flakes to the cooking veg.
004. Then add your chopped pumpkin to the pan along with two stock cubes, add hot water - just enough to cover the ingredients.
005. Allow to simmer for 30-40mins.
006. Blend and store inside your favourite containers

This is such an easy dish, its super healthy and by cooking in bulk you can always ensure you have some in the freezer for when you are feeling a little peckish. This is also great for taking to work as its filling yet super low in fat, I often add a spoon full of cream cheese which makes it taste very yummy and a little bit naughty yet guilt free. If you enjoy your carbs like me try toasting a wholemeal pitta and dipping it in, believe me it tastes divine. Hope you enjoy!

MAC Archies Girls: Veronicas Blush

Veronica's Blush: Mac Cosmetics

Like many other beauty bloggers I have been hearing so much about MAC's newest collection. Archies girls is collection of strong seductive colours alongside brighter and girlie shades to celebrate the iconic persona's of Archies Girls. I had seen a whole host of swatches online before heading to my local MAC store to have a little nosey at the collection.

The packaging isn't MAC's finest, I find white shades get super dirty and grubby rather quickly and I would prefer a much sleeker offering; this being said the packaging isn't what I am actually paying for so.. The product? Well I picked up Veronicas Blush. Like I said not one other item took my fancy in the collection. I found all the lipstick offerings were the 'same old' bright/baby pink and peachy orange, not exactly original in my opinion.

Veronicas Blush is by far the stand out product in this collection for me. I have nothing like this in my collection and it really is a nice addition. Veronicas Blush is described as a silvery pink base with deep pink hearts. This product can be used as a highlight, blush or even an eyeshadow, I picked it up with the intention of using it as a highlight. I have a few highlight shades, peach, gold but nothing with this pinky/sliver pay off.

The product is super finely milled which really does allow for smooth application, it leaves the cheeks/cheekbones looking dewy and healthy just as I expect it to. I wore it on Sunday and it lasted all day which is really great. I would love to try some more of these MAC Pearlmatte face powders, I find it much easier to work with than any of my other MAC highlight products and I think thats because its so smooth and really glourious to work with on the skin.

This product isn't life changing, you don't need it in your collection but it really is a nice addition. I can see myself wearing it alot. If you use MAC MSF in Soft and Gentle but find that a tad glittery then this or Flatter me really are a good choice to pick up.
